Dear Neighbors and Supporters,
On behalf of my wife Mindy and my son Joshua, thanks to each of you for the support
in the recent Phoenix City Council election.
Our election efforts took us to capture the 24% of the vote that was outstanding
from the Sep. 11th primary (from the other two candidates). We took more than 62%
of that vote - that was a huge leap in position. We significantly increased our position.
We also won in the increase of votes - we gained two votes for every one of the
main opponent.
Another statistic we are proud: the number of people who came out for a run-off
election. Normally, in Phoenix run-off elections, there is a significant drop in
the voter turn-out for run-offs. In this election we saw the turn-out between the
primary and run-off stay the same - we are pleased so many turned out to vote!
I am committed to continue working with neighbors and grass roots groups concerned
with issues of safety and quality for their neighborhoods. I am concerned that there
are well-financed corporate special interests that are so invested in the government
process. There needs to be a balance and a focus on the single most important special
interest: people working hard to earn a living for their families.
Again, thank you. We wish the victors in the process well.
On behalf of my family, helping your family, thank you.
