Dear Council District 3 Neighbors and Friends,
Phoenix is our family home because it is a great place to live and raise a family. As a Phoenix native who has spent many years volunteering to help others, I know that we must remain committed to keeping Phoenix a strong and vibrant community.
As your next City Councilman, I will focus my efforts on making our neighborhoods safe from gangs and crime. My dedication is to work as a team member with the entire Mayor and Council to expand the economic opportunities and bring good paying jobs and clean industry and business opportunities to our great city.
I have a 30-year track record of working to protect neighborhoods that stated in 1974 helping my neighbors lobby for and get improved fire and emergency services after seeing four tragic fire deaths and multiple serious accidents occur over a short period of time.
My business background as national marketing director that led a major sales effort resulted in more than $40 million of new business coming to an Arizona based national firm. For the past nine years I have owned a public safety and emergency planning consulting service that has help guide cities and counties to good financially responsible programs that have increased public safety.
I have contributed my time to not-for-profit groups in national leadership positions, fighting for better care of our military war veterans. I, too, am a veteran of 22 years service in the Navy, having retired from national command staff in a senior leadership position.
In each of my positions, the ability to build consensus has lead to others being successful. I am proud of a record that has seen many I was responsible for and led promote upward in business and the military.
Phoenix and our nation has given me a lot of opportunity. I step forward to lend my abilities with others on the City Council to provide common sense solutions to keeping our neighborhoods safe and our city economically successful. In challenging financial times, you expect thoughtful, principled leadership. I ask for your vote so together we can ensure that Phoenix continues to be a city that we proudly call our home.
